Greetings from the beautiful Westin La Paloma Resort in Tuscon, Arizona -- where I am attending the Off-the-Road Tire Conference put on by the Tire Industry Association (TIA). I'm looking forward to learning more about the tire industry and TIA as well as talking to new contacts about Nussbaum's custom solution for transporting tires.

It is with a great deal of excitement that we announce the signing of a contract for a new specialized dedicated operation with Electrolux, a current customer, and one of the largest manufacturers of appliances in the world with numerous plants here in the US. Electrolux purchases heavy steel coils for use in manufacturing which are transported by flatbed from steel suppliers to the plant.

After years of experience working with shippers in need of Dedicated Contract Carriage, I’ve come up with six criteria that are helpful in determining whether or not DCC is the right fit for you. Here they are:
1. Specialized Equipment
Does your product require special equipment for hauling, loading or unloading?
2. Personalized Service

I’d like to dispel a myth that is common among many small companies. I often hear business owners of small and even medium-sized companies tell me that they can’t afford Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC). But, this simply isn’t true.

At Nussbaum, we love a transportation challenge. And our Dedicated Contract Carriage business gives us ample opportunity to solve equipment use and logistics issues. Lately, we’ve been innovating new ways to haul products we’ve transported on flatbeds and vans for years.
