Exciting New Specialized Dedicated Operation

in
It is with a great deal of excitement that we announce the signing of a contract for a new specialized dedicated operation with Electrolux, a current customer, and one of the largest manufacturers of appliances in the world with numerous plants here in the US. Electrolux purchases heavy steel coils for use in manufacturing which are transported by flatbed from steel suppliers to the plant. When the steel is unloaded, these flatbed carriers must find freight to haul from other shippers in the area as there is only finished goods coming back out of the plants on van type trailers.

In mid 2008, Nussbaum proposed the idea of loading heavy duty vans (specialized trailers that have heavy duty floors with the ability to bear the weight of heavy steel coils) with heavy duty forklifts at the steel suppliers and reloading them at the plants with outbound finished product going to Electrolux distribution centers and customers, keeping this equipment in a dedicated loop. Electrolux is very excited about it as they will save much in freight costs utilizing these trailers for both inbound and outbound. Nussbaum received a three year, signed contract for the first of which may be several operations at other Electrolux plants to provide these same specialized services. The first will operate between the supplier in the Chicago area and plants in St. Cloud, MN, and Webster City, IA. After Webster City shuts down in a year, the equipment and drivers will be transferred to another of their operations.

Nussbaum has been working for some time on a heavy duty trailer spec with a trailer manufacturer which has built them previously.   It is our plan to take delivery of this specialized equipment and commence operation in the late 1st quarter or beginning of the 2nd quarter.  Electrolux is studying the feasibility of doing this at other plants in 2010 as the success of this operation proves out. We look very forward to this new business.   Stay tuned to exciting new developements with and other  dedicated projects as we move forward!
