Dedicated Contract Carriage: Is it right for you?

After years of experience working with shippers in need of Dedicated Contract Carriage, I’ve come up with six criteria that are helpful in determining whether or not DCC is the right fit for you. Here they are:
1. Specialized Equipment
Does your product require special equipment for hauling, loading or unloading?
2. Personalized Service
Do your customers have unique demands that require a personal touch, whether for delivering time sensitive products or to uphold your company’s brand? Is the driver required to perform personalized unloading services such as delivery inside the customer’s facility?
3. Transportation as Added Value
Do you place a value on the image of the equipment when performing deliveries to your customers? What value does image and service place in the overall marketing of the product?
4. Time-Sensitive Shipments
Are you a manufacturer that relies on time-sensitive shipments of parts and other products, or do you ship parts and products to manufacturers that require on-time delivery?
5. Consolidation of Shipments
Are there consistent inbound or outbound shipments that can be consolidated into daily or weekly moves?
6. High-Value Products
Is there a need to protect high value shipments from damage or theft?
We routinely explore these criteria during our initial conversations with potential customers because they help us determine if a customer would be better served by our other services, like inbound freight management. If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, drop me a line and let’s talk. There’s no limit to how we can put DCC to work for you.
