Nussbaum has a longstanding history serving the tire manufacturing industry – from the transport of passenger car tires to semi truck and off-road vehicle tires – with shipments to both distribution centers and directly to dealers.

We work closely with tire companies to design tire transportation services that are efficient and cost-effective. Have a specialty product that has a special equipment need? We work directly with trailer manufacturers to custom design equipment to transport and deliver any tire load.

For instance, we are currently working on a project with Michelin to use a custom built trailer, recently developed by Wabash Trailer that hauls large size off-road tires “standing up”. This new transport system will not require permits or escort services, and the new trailers can be hauled 24 hours a day, ultimately, saving time and transit costs for tire shipments. Furthermore, when empty, these specialized trailers convert into flatbeds to haul other products, reducing the cost of operation.
