Nussbaum News and Updates

5 Years as a Top 100 Trucker

A lot has happened in 5 years. 5 years ago, we had about 160 drivers running mostly regional freight. Today, we’re keeping more than 300 drivers busy, serving all 48 continental United States. 5 Years ago, we were operating with 30 employees out of a small, yet adequate office building and 1-bay shop for preventative maintenance and basic repairs. Now with 76 office and shop employees, we’ve moved a mile up the road into a brand new operations building and state-of-the-art maintenance facility performing all types of repairs.

What does it take to be a top 100 trucker five years running?   The answer can be summed up in one word……….people.   Nussbaum is celebrating its seventieth year in business and we’ve learned a lot along the way; most importantly, how to value our employees.  At Nussbaum, we believe that our success begins and ends with our employees.  Period end!

Our founder, Alden Nussbaum had a very simple philosophy.  He said:

“if you take care of your people, everything else will take care of itself.”

Operating on that simple premise has been a top priority at Nussbaum.

We believe that when employees feel appreciated, they provide a higher level of service and care to the customer. In turn, the customer will desire to grow the relationship and experience more of it. When employees are included in decision-making, affirmed, and made to feel like their opinions are valued, they search for ways to be innovative.

Innovation and great service drive relationships with customers.  Done right, the relationship will flourish and the company will experience success.  Thus has been our experience at Nussbaum and one we continue to strive for each day.  Valuing people first will always vault a company to the top.  That’s how we became a Top Trucker.
